Letter from associations dated April 14, 2026, to the BMWE (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) regarding the hurdles of calibration law, with proposals for a practical revision of the Measurement and Calibration Act

The current requirements for charging stations, as well as market oversight by state calibration authorities, result in significant procurement, adaptation, and organizational costs for manufacturers and operators—with associated impacts on consumers. In a joint letter accompanied by a position paper, the associations S.A.F.E., ZVEI, ADAC, CharIN, BVES, INSPIRE, and E Mobility Deutschland have therefore submitted proposals to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy for a practical revision of the Measurement and Calibration Act. (The letter and position paper are avialable in German only).
